Infusion Technique.

We design boats that are built to last. That’s why we use this specific technique, infused parts have a higher fiberglass-to-resin ratio closer to 50-50 from a typical 70/30 ratio on an open molded part. This makes the parts lighter and stronger in comparison.

Here are just a few of the advantages:

  • Resistance to Corrosion: Composite materials created through resin infusion are corrosion-resistant, making them suitable for use in marine environments.

  • High Strength-to-Weight Ratio: Resin infusion results in composite structures that are lightweight yet strong, providing good performance and durability for boats.

  • Reduced Air and Void Content: The vacuum pressure during the infusion process helps eliminate air bubbles and voids within the composite, ensuring a more uniform and reliable structure.

At Blackwater Composites, our vacuum infusion process delivers a multitude of benefits to our vessels. With its ability to ensure consistent resin usage, minimising wastage, and maintaining high levels of consistency and repeatability, this process not only promotes environmental sustainability but also results in a cleaner and more efficient manufacturing process. As a result, our customers can enjoy the advantages of a superior vessel quality, an enhanced interior finish, reduced production cycle times, and ultimately lower costs.
